HumanGreed, what could I say about them? I mean, It's a great band delivering a full load of heavy grind-core powered with stunning suffering growls and intelligent eco/political lyrics.
I saw them live quite a few times, they were just great. HumanGreed before it broke up, was the grind band of early '90s here. I mean, as far as I can remember no one played that loud'n heavy, let me just say that even here at the time I and some friends didn't consider it as music so much it was heavy.
HumanGreed lyrics really make the ecological way. Preaching vegan diet and trying not to use any animal based products. The name stand for one of predominating fact of the human being. With songs like 'Conquest' 'The Disposables' 'The Greed' they really standed for their name.
A brief historic (as related by Wag):
HumanGreed started with Pat and Fred in March of 1992. Marty hooked up with them via an add in a record shop. They rehearsed for about 2 months and met Eric the first singer. It didn't take long before they added a second singer: Dom. This line-up didn't lasted until november 1992. Dom left the band and was replaced by Steff. By then they had recorded 2 songs with only Eric singing. Those songs were used for a short documentary on aids (Note: This is, in my opinion, the best version of Seeds Of Destruction). Then came Marie-Pou and Johanne in January 1993. This lasted until May 1993 when Eric was asked to leave the band for some reasons. Hewasreplaced by Wag. In June 93 they recorded 13 songs that would be later used for the(Note:Long awaited and delayed) Shitfit/HumanGreed split LP, released by Dysgusher Records.
In July 93, Fred and Wag left on tour with Shitfit not to return before October 93. Meanwhile, Steve from Revolted Vermins held the drumsticks. When Fred and Wag came back the band started to play a lot of gigs and talked about plans for a tour. In December 93 Johanne was kicked out of the band for lack of integrity (buying leather and singing about animals right didn't seem to make sense). Then March 1994 it was Marie-Pou's turn for the same reasons. From then, line-up stayed the same. They went on a 2 week tour with Immoral Sqad in July 1994. Short after they recorded what would become their last songs in January 1995. It came out on a split 7" with Monster X (Hater of God Records) and a full 7" on Spineless Records. They decided to quits and pursue personnal interests. A few gigs more and it all ended May 14th 1995.
