VooDoo Chat Information

Avatars:
VooDoo has more image file associations than the old VP did. You are now able to use extensions such as.JPG, .JPEG, .BMP, and .GIF to create smaller avatar files. In Virtual Places, you could only use .BMP, and.GIF format avatars.

All of the avatars in my VooDoo section differ from the ones in the VP section because they are ALL in .JPG form to make the file size smaller, of course. Making the file size smaller does not mean that the graphics are any poorer quality than your precious .BMP files. (Get over it, you filthy volunteer avatar painters.)

Also, the VooDoo avatars are not in any specific canvas size categories. This was an intentional lookover. It would be sort of time consuming and pointless since VooDoo needs no "MegaHead" program to run a bigger canvas size than 48 x 64 pixels. In VooDoo, you can use an avatar up to 150 x 150 pixels (no more skewed, disproportioned imagery!) Take into consideration that the maximum avatar file size limit is 14.5kb, though.

A new feature introduced to the VP-addicted (and heartbroken) masses was the use of animated avatars! "Whoa!" At first hearing about this new feature, I was sort of skeptical about it. I kind of wonder why the old VP, in it's 5 year (or more) lifespan, why didn't anyone think of this before? I imagine it was because the Excite "Team Members" spent most of their time reading Playboys and masterbating in their cubicles in the last 5 years. This behavior eventually led the Excite Team Members into their new home, the unemployment office. Parkay, anyone?

I do not test any of these avatars before I put them on to the page, but I'm pretty sure they will work in VooDoo judging by file size and format. If you have any problems with one of the avatars, please E-mail me with the file name of the avatar, and I will fix it as soon as I feel like it. TYVM STFU

File Transfers:

Gestures:
Gestures are not available at this time. TY PLZ DRIVE THRU.

Name Registration:
Yes kiddies, you can only register up to 5 VooDoo names on each computer (until someone eventually finds a way around it). As far as I understood, Excite not having a limit on the registry of new names in their old VP was one of the many straws that broke the camel's back. So be sure you really want the names that you register in VooDoo. There's no turning back.

VooDoo Skins:
Skins for the old VP (to my knowledge) were not very widely used. This is not the case with the VooDoo program. The installation for every VooDoo application comes with a few default skins. Graphic artists, or anyone with a painting program such as PaintShop Pro or Adobe can flex their creativity muscles and compile great-looking (or not so great-looking) skins! You can download the skin compiler at the VooDoo website. ( http://www.voodoochat.com )
