Phantom of the Opera shirt of the musical in general
Because the
making the description of each item costs so mucht time. I wil make them
shorter from now on. Afterall a picture says more then a thousand words.
I bought this one recently throught ebay. I was not really paying attention
when bought this shirt several months ago on ebay. It was clearly Phantom
and it was cheap. The front says in very large print: the phantom of the
opera and there is a mask on the sleave. No mention of a specific show.
Its from the line "touch of gold" made by spring ford.

Phantom of the Opera shirt of the Dutch show
Because the making
the description of each item costs so mucht time. I wil make them shorter
from now on. Afterall a picture says more then a thousand words. I bought
this one recently throught ebay. I bought this shirt in the theater in
Scheveningen where the Dutch show was on stage. The front says: the phantom
of the opera - holland. The mask is glow in the dark and its the only decoration
on the whole shirt.
Phantom of the Opera shirt of the Canadian show
Because
the making the description of each item costs so mucht time. I wil make
them shorter from now on. Afterall a picture says more then a thousand
words. I bought this one recently throught ebay. The shirt is XL (looks
smaller) and cost 0,99 dollar. WIth shipping to the netherlands that came
to about 10,99 (8 a 9 euro) I liked it because of the 'spotlight" image.
Its from the canadian show in the Plantages theatre in Toronto
Phantom
of the Opera Victorian Dress Pattern
May 1 2006- Under all the text here which decribes the item I have in my collection I have placed some pictures of my creation. But be warned they are rahter shocking... as said before I do not have much skill, had a very short deadline, and do NOT look like a Christine...(too old, and ehm curvy (lets call it that wont we??)
April 14, 2006 - I am now working on the dress in the color sea green/blue. SInce I am not that handy and have a deadline to make (elf fantasy fair on april 22) it will not nearly look as good as on the pictures (in the future I might put online a photo of the result..if I am not too ashamed of it)
Since I tend to visit the Elf Fantasy fair (kind of renesance fair)
and last year for the first time went in costume (made myself from a pattern)
I went looking
for another pattern for this years edition. I was actually looking
voor a simple one since I am still very unexperienced. However when I was
looking for Phantom items to add to my collection on ebay I came across
this one. It arrived yesterday and yes....it will be a challange. It will
probably be made badly (due to lack of skill) and I am no young and
beautifull slim lady...(the only thing thats correct is that I have long
hair of my own) but I can not resist the opportunity of giving it a go.
From the pattern you can make a replica of christines masquerade dress
and with the other option the point of no return dress. If you read what
I stated about me not looking like a Christine you can imagine why I will
try my hands on the masquerade one and not the sexy point of no return.
Here are some things the seller wrote about it. (since I could
not have said it better myself I quote her)
"Breath-taking costume pattern based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway smash & Joel Schumacher's recent film, Phantom of the Opera. This particular pattern concentrates on two memorable dresses worn by Christine, the object of The Phantom's obsession. Both styles are very authentic looks for the time period. Every well-bred French lady in the 1880's almost certainly would have had dresses similar to these.
The first style, View A (larger picture, left, and small picture on
lower right) is Christine's pink "Masquerade" dress. Sleeveless bodice
with princess seams, full skirt, and 3 very large dramatic flounces in
the back. The other style, View B (upper right), is a very good reproduction
of Christine's "Point of No Return" dress.
Christine's "Masquerade" Dress Christine's "Point
of No Return" Dress

The pattern contains all 13 pieces to make both views and is multi-sized
to fit sizes 6-8-10-12. It regularly retails for $16.95 if you can find
it. Due to their popularity not only for Phantom of the Opera fans, but
for Halloween & costume parties in general, these are getting pretty
difficult to find.

What I made of it...as stated above..be warned the pictures are rahter
shocking... as said before I do not have much skill, had a very short deadline,
and do NOT look like a Christine...(too old, and ehm ...curvy (lets call
it that wont we??) Oh and I know..the upper layer seems short but the basis
was my mothers weddinggown and I did not have time to make it longer (will
do that in the future though) and the hoopskirt is much thinner but thats
because A- I had to figure out al that myself (was not included in the
pattern) and B - with my type of figure one does NOT want to make ones
hips too much broader... Also regarding the picture from the back...the
fullnes of the que does not come across well, in reality its much more
fluffy. The que is removable (this is also so on the original pattern)
which makes traveling easier. In the orriginal pattern however it was fasstened
with ribbons through holes in the skirt. I have chosen to make no holes
in the skirt but to use transparent ribbons and tie it around the waist
(under my bodice). This is much more practical since it turned out on the
fair that a lot of people would stap on my hem...had I used the holes they
would have torn my dress ..now all I felt was a tugg at my waist. Oh and
I did not use lots of lacy lace ruffles...also very dangerous for one my
size (I used a transparant voile with shiny seagreen threads weaven into
it and did not ruffle very much)
