As you will have already have guest our fave band is Boyzone. So we decided that the first fact file had to be on boyzone!
In November 1994 Boyzone releasted there very first single called Love Me For a Reason. It was a huge success for Boyzone as it reached number 4 in the charts. Boyzone became increasingly popular, there songs reached all generations and somehow managed to please everyone.
Ronan says Isn't it a Wonder "was a big turning point for me personly, the first song I wrote myself alone. I loved recording it - then we shot the video for it in Australia, the first and only time we've done a video anywhere exotic."
Picture of You was from the film Bean, staring Mr. Bean. The song got to number 2 in the charts. Their video was shot in a resedental street in London and it contained Mr. Bean. Mikey said, "We all look like school teachers in it!"
Another big step for Boyzone was working with Andrew Lloyd Webber on their number 1 hit No Matter What
Stephen Gately is gay. It's official. It is said that many people in showbiz (such as members of Boyzone) already knew that he was gay and respected his private life and kept it a secret. It was rumoured that Stephen went out with a lot of showbiz women such as Baby Spice, and these kind of things appeared regularly in gossip columns. It is very clear now though that he is gay. Last month he decided to tell the papers before somebody other than him did. However, as usual the papers made a big thing about him being gay. I think that if Steve wants to be gay, let him. What right do we or the press have to tell him what to do with his life. I admire his honesty and courage in talking about what is obviously a private thing to him. Making fun of gays is wrong, the same as racism and ageism, it should be stopped. Everyone has a right to live the way they want as long as they do not hurt others either mentally or physically.
