Backstreet Howie's grief as his sister dies aged 25

HE FLEES TOUR TO BE WITH FAMILY

BACKSTREET Boy Howie D was being comforted by family and friends yesterday after his 25-year-old sister suddenly died. Distraught Howie pulled out minutes before the band's matinee show at the Allegan Country Fair, near Minneapolis, after hearing the news.

His sister was found dead last Saturday after losing her battle with the wasting skin disease, lupus.

Howie, 18 <eh?!???> - real name Howie Dorough - immediately flew back to Florida to be with his family.

The rest of the boysperformed the gig at Allegan and dedicated it to Howie's sister. But they have cancelled a weeekend concert in Minneapolis as a mark of respect.

A source said: "Howie was very close to his sister and is distraught. The family just want to be together and be left alone.

"His friends in the band are being very supportive. But they seem to be jinxed at the moment."

The band have been dogged with bad luck and tragedy throughout their American tour.

In May, Brian Littrel <ahem!> underwent a hole-in-the-heart operation.

Then bandmate AJ McLean pulled out of several shows because of a thigh injury.

Cancer claimed the lives of Kevin Richardson's cousin and Brian Littrel's grandfather <what's this got to do with the american tour... was this recent??? If not, then they fail to mention Kevin's father>.

Finally, Richardson was rushed to hospital after tumbling over during a dance routine.

The insider adds; "Professionally, everything is amazing. But personally, everyone is having a really rough time"

The Pringle comments.... Believe what you will, but personally, all the mistakes add to my doubts over the story. If it is true, and I hope to God it isn't for Howie's sake (and his family), I'm sure we all feel for them, as my friend has already said... "It's so sad, I can't believe it... I hope they're all gonna be alright." We send our regards to the Dorough family.
