by publication or speech to accomplish thes goals..tha Sedition Acts of
1798 amd 1918 put severe limitations on mere critasism oftha government...though
closely related to treason sedition does not require tha precise standard
of proof which tha constitution requires for treason convictions..punishment
for seditios speech resulted in severe restrictions on nonconformists in
post-revolutionary america
