Band Bios
The band "lee harvy" was formed in the spring of 1998. What started out as a bunch of high school kids doing Pantera, Rage Against the Machine and Black Sabbath covers quickly developed into three talented musicians writing and performing their own songs.
How good are they? After just three months of intense writing and practice, Alex Johnson (guitar, bass, lead vocals), Dan Johnson (guitar, bass, vocals) and Andy Grayson (drums) compiled their first demo cosisting of four original songs. The CD was completed in just six hours on a shoestring budget. Almost immediately the band knew they were onto something good!
The local radio station in Dallas "KEGL 97.1" thought so too! lee harvy was extended an invitation to play on the station's popular "Local Show" that August. The song "4-5-6-7" gained popular attention among all the DJ's and was a favorite at the Eagle for several months. This was pretty heavy stuff for a 13, 15, and 16 year old.
1999 saw a few changes here and there and some advice from a couple of producers. The biggest change happened when Dan Johnson, Alex's brother, quit the band to pursue other interests. Fortunately for Alex and Andy, a stable of fine musicians were waiting in the wings to launch this Cinderella story into high gear.
Then, entered Michael Doty (guitar, vocals) and Bryan Gill (guitar, vocals), two local high school buddies, solidifing lee harvy's unique blend of rap, metal, and rock fusion.
lee harvy has pulled the trigger, revolutionizing music for the new millennium. With one shot, Alex, Andy, Michael, and Bryan have destroyed Camelot! Rock will never again be the same. The enigma remains... only the fans will know for sure.
