Well, as you all know, Guster is now officially "Sire Records
Recording Artists, Guster", which should make all of us "old school" fans
happy because now we have an excuse to hate all the "poser" new fans. I'm
kidding, of course. We should welcome all the new teenyboppers with their
Tiger Beat magazines in which Guster is sandwiched between Gavin Rossdale
and Leo DiCaprio WITH OPEN ARMS, so maybe we can try and knock some sense
into them.
In all truth, though, this means that the fantabulous music
of Guster could now possibly reach a whole new group of people, which is
a really good thing. I'm happy for our boyz and wish them the best. The
man who signed them, Seymour Stein, has also signed a coupla other artists
by the names of, oh, I don't know...Madonna, the Barenaked Ladies, The
Smiths, Depeche Mode, Talking Heads, Seal, k.d. lang, and The Ramones,
to name a few. So this guy has cred.
Sire Records is a subsidary of Warner Entertainment. I'm personally
hoping the boyz can get me Wakko's autograph.
