This album is a great moment for elektro fans. Here we have the mighty
Jean-Luc De Meyer, one of the founders of the genre (Front 242) working
with the imminently talented Englishman Marc Heal (Cubanate). The combination
is incredible, giving us a beautifully blended and masterfully executed
work of Ambient/Industrial. Each song has a completely different feel.
Some are extraordinarily minimalist, almost in a Dive sense, while others
have a layered complexity reminiscent of Autechre. It seems that Wax Trax!
is trying desperately to make itself worthy of it's old standards. Ha.
However, by signing artists of this caliber, they aren't doing a bad job.
Buy it or suck.
