Underground music reviews by genre

A musical form which originated with the divergence of Punk using found or unconventional instrumentation to make art from what would have formerly been considered mere noise. Eventually, Industrial music evolved largely towards electronic instrumentation, spawning the genre commonly referred to as Elektro or EBM. For more information, read the rec.music.industrial FAQ.
The sister of Industrial music, Goth was also born from Punk's split. The Gothic movement prizes dark, ethereal (or should I say 'funereal') beauty, often meshing very old, traditional musical styles (renaissance, baroque, victorian, folk, etc.) with newer techniques to create a moody, seductive atmosphere of emotion and darkness. For more background on Gothic music and culture, read the  alt.gothic FAQ .
Miscellaneous

This category embodies all those eclectic bits of glory which I find myself listening to which don't fall into either the Industrial or Gothic genres. This could be anything. I'm not kidding. Really.
