Crossover is nowadays a description which has many different meanings. As it is about mixing different music styles together, Crossover bands usually sound quite differently. One of the most extreme mixing band is Antisilence from Turkey. While listening to their second album 'Suffer Hits', it's unbelievable to believe that they started in 1992 as a classical Death and Thrash Metal band. Thrash Metal is nowadays still an important element of Antisilence's music. But nevertheless, the different songs contain much more elements like Hardcore vocals, melodic guitar lines and quite often groovy nearly Rap parts. Even some Metallica like semi-ballads may come to your ear. Musically, Antisilence play on a very high and excellent level and it's a pleasure listening to the different songs. The only thing that one has to reproach to them is that their songs have no clear structure, it seems as they are still looking for their style to play. Some of the lyrics are also sung in Turkish what gives this well promising band a slight exotic touch. |
