Armistice are not an unknown band to DisAgreement online
as we reviewed already their excellent CD-EP 'Airraid' in this section. The german label Black
Arrow also seemed to like this CD very much as they took Armistice under contract, but under the
condition to re-record the five songs from that EP (Airraid Siren, Nuclear Breakdown, Symptom
Of The Universe, Hit And Run, Worse Than Yesterday). Compared to the predecessor, Armistice haven't
changed a lot and I dare say that this wasn't necessary as they still belong to the freshest sounding
Thrash Metal bands around. Fast double guitar riffs, a bombastic drum sound and a quite remarkable
shouter who doesn't copy any idols are just a few trademarks of Armistice's class. The only parallel
I can find while listening to the meanwhile fourth Armistice CD is Annihilator, one of the best
Metal bands in the early 90ies. Heavy Metal has been celebrating a kind of revival during the last
few years and I hope that Armistice could also take some profit of that trend. The sound quality
is optimal and their songs are good enough to get attention by the media and the fans. I can imagine
that seeing Armistice live must be an exhausting headbanging experience. Don't hesitate to contact Armistice at the following address: Stefan Fischer, Bergstr. 1c, D-85567 GRAFING (Germany) |
