Bloe Baaschtert is in fact a radio
show about Luxemburgian music which you can listen to every second Monday on
Radio ARA. On of the two DJs is called Unki
and he had the idea to release a compilation containing only Luxemburgian Alternative sounding
artists. Although the idea is very good, the realisation could have been better. First of all, it's
annoying that PETROGRAD have added two songs, and one of them is a boring piano play called 'Fuck
Taoism'. I won't tell any details, but such a title is under the niveau of a first class Emopunk band.
Other disappointments are MENTAL DECAY (this has nothing to do with music) and LUXUS (song is sounding
like a 'Tatort' soundtrack). Both bands have already released much better CDs in the past. FEO
and JANG A KLANG play acoustic Folk or World, music that normally isn't a subject for DisAgreement
Online. But there have been lots of artists I could enjoy on this CD: PRONOIAN MADE (sounding like
Sisters of Mercy), SOUL SEASON (well played instrumental Retro Rock, but they have now a singer),
TOXKÄPP (funny Ska with Lux lyrics), SKINFLICKS (cool Oi! band), REGGIE FAIN (authentic sounding
singer/songwriter), KITSHICKERS (Noise with melodic parts), SCHWITZENDE SCHWEINE (80's Synthiepop),
SKOL (Emo Core), SURF ME UP SCOTTY (Surf rules), SOMETHING UNDER MY BED (frightful sounding melodies,
great singer) and BSE (Industrial). It's a little pity that some songs are lasting longer than 6 minutes. If every band would have contributed a shorter song, there would have been space left on the CD for more bands. But 16 bands are already no bad result. But I wonder if you'll find one person who can appreciate every artist on this quite diverse CD. For more information, you can send an e-mail to Unki.
