CSSO from Tokyo always used to be one of the strangest bands on Earth, but on their new CD 'Are You Excrements?', they are breaking all conventions. The opening track 'Cosmic Super Strong Ordure' is beginning with lots of 70ies Rock guitar riffs and psychadelic noises, which are followed by the ugliest sounding grind grunts. That's why they call their music Grindrock. Very unusual, indeed. Another strange this is that 3 songs on the album are lasting about 3 minutes, the other 3 about 10 minutes. A Surf Garage guitar with those throatkill vocals makes 'Living Dead A Go Go' another strange element on this CD. This longest song on the CD is containing Mexican melodies, annoying avantgardistic sounds and some real noise orgies. CSSO are absolutely bizarre, you have the impression that those guys are totally insane or deranged. You may think that Guitar Wolf from Japan is totally disturbed, but CSSO go in their musical trip much further. You really need strong nerves to outstand 'Are You Excrements?'. |
