Disrespect are a German Hardcore band formed in 1994. By supporting well known bands like Ryker's, Sick Of It All, Vision Of Disorder, Agnostic Front, Integrity etc., they soon got an excellent reputation in the Hardcore underground scene and their first releases sold well. Before 'Hit The Ceiling', Disrespect already released a mini CD, two 7" and one full-length-CD, each time on different labels. The list of the just named bands gives already a strong hint of the music Disrespect are playing: brutal, energetic, but also groovy and only seldom at high speed. Nevertheless, Disrespect are harder than lots of extreme Metal bands, and some songs on 'Hit The Ceiling' are even quite Metal compatible (Lost Souls, Dethroned), especially because of the typical Metal like guitar play. But you'll find of course real Old School Hardcore stuff on this CD, too. Just listen to 'Disillusion' or 'Reveal'. Disrespect are not sounding like a German band, you really have the impression that they come from the USA. Disrespect have produced one of the hardest Hardcore albums I have ever heard. The only little problem I have with this CD is the lack of originality. But they are still a young band and will surely more develop in the future. |
