I remember that the second volume of the Durp compilation was more or less the most boring so called progressive music I had ever heard. I wasn't very eager listening to the third edition, but this time, the quality was much above that from the last one. Here's a list of the participating band with slight commentaries: 01. TellTaleHard (GER): Tip The Scale (Fates Warning like) 08. Body Full Of Stars (UK): Body Full Of Stars (Ethno) 09. Platos HalO (USA): In The Pink (great voice like Kate Bush) 10. Transcendence (GER): Step By Step (melodic Rock, weakest track of the album) 11. Sfumato (GER): Take 2 (retro sounding instrumental) 12. Prototype (USA): Trinity (Progressive Metal) 13. Paranoise (USA): Tarana (instrumental oriental, cool effects) 14. Mystery (CDN): Beneath The Veil Of Winter's Face (Yes like) 15. Salem Hill (USA): The Last Enemy (Procol Harum like) This time, 14 strong tracks are confronted to just one single one. Even if I couldn't recommand Durp 2 at all, I think that listening to Durp 3 is an excellent choice. Even if not every band is sounding too originally, they all play beautiful songs and give an interesting overview of a part of the Progressive scene.
