13 songs / 35 minutes

The new CD 'Slaughtercult' by Exhumed will definitely not be suited for people with a weak nervous system. The cover artwork presents already a very tasteful mixture of blood, flesh and broken glass, the backcover shows the three musicians taking a refreshing blood shower. The musical transformation of this artwork is of course quite extreme. The 13 songs are all held at an extremely high speed, varying between very fast Thrash Metal and Death Metal. The vocals are done by two singers; the first one has an excellent screamingDeath Metal voice, the second one is a classic Grindcore grunter. The lyrics are quite disgusting and present death as the ultimate goal of life. The sound production, that Nasum mastermind Mieszko Talarzyk was responsible for, is on a very high level, too. I only wonder how only three musicians may be able to play such intense, but complicated structures. After 35 minutes, you are lucky when you have survived this musical alignment of blood, gore and devastation withouth any physical or psychic injuries. |
