Fluyd have already been founded in late 1994, but they'd so far just released several songs on different compilation CDs. You had to wait until 1999 for the release of their first CD which is lasting more than an hour. As they combine melodic tunes with hard Crossover riffs, they describe their musical style as Rap'n'Roll. The male singer is mostly responsible for the excellent rap parts, while the female singer has a more pop orientated, but strong voice. Both can well coincide together. Carole's voice isn't afraid of high parts and she does this far better than Brainchild, another band from Luxemburg. Fluyd also have done a lot of progress concerning song writing when you compare the new songs to those which were on the Mac Attack compilation (1996). Especially 'Masquerade' is well structured and full of diverse riffs. Most songs last longer than 5 minutes and this gives Fluyd lots of possibilities to put variations in them. 'Sick Of It' is one of the most expreme examples where real quiet parts alternate with Hardcore like 'Jump! Jump!' riffs. What Fluyd do is unique in Luxemburg and I can't compare them to any other band. Although there's even an atmospheric song like 'Inferno', Fluyd have become a quite hard band and I suppose that fans of Rock Music, Hardcore and Rap may appreciate this bizarre kind of crossover. None of the 12 tracks contains boring parts, but the two-minutes-intro is really an unnecassary annoyance. Only 'Blame Me' seems to have been written in order to get some radio airplay, but I guess that I'll only play the other songs in my shows. The band may be contacted under the following address:
