Sometimes writing a music review can be a hard duty, as it is the case for Gun-Barrel's Power-Dive.
This newcomer band from Cologne can't convince me at all with its debut CD. In their own words, their
music is fun that makes people dancing around. But can't the same be said about DJ Ötzi or
Wolle Petry? Unfortunately, what they are playing is nothing else than simple and plump Rock'n'Roll
uptempo songs with some grooves. Although the vocals aren't too bad and go in direction of Biff
Byford (Saxon), this can't hide that the whole CD is just boring and there's nothing on it you haven't
heard already before. The cover artwork is wide below avarage, too. I think you have to be totally
drunk to enjoy Gun-Barrel. But then I prefer not to drink and to listen to good music.
