Although this double-CD is sold at the special price of 25 DEM, 12 US$ or 13 Euro, I really
can't recommend this compilation as I don't see an interesting idea behind it. On the one hand
you get all the interesting hardcore bands that are around at the time, but on the other
hand it also seems that this is kind of a name dropping thing that Kingfisher records use
to make their own bands seem more interesting. Not that their bands are bad, but compared to
some of the big bands presented here, you will get the idea. I don't see the point calling
a CD "Hardcore 2000" and then have bands with really old material (some songs go
back as early as 1993) on it. Better buy
some label compilations that are usually offered even cheaper and contain a more homogenous
tracklist. This is just interesting for people who want to have a CD that they can play at
their hardcore parties or whatever. Although basically the quality of the music is rather
high on this release, this is in my eyes one of the least interesting compilations released
lately. Get it if you must, but think twice. PS: Here's the list of the participating bands: Sub Zero, Deviate, Slapshot, NJ Bloodline, Cro-Mags, Fury Of Five, Beatdown, Turmoil, Miozän, Fit Of Anger, Brightside, Son Of Skam, Together We Fall, Haste, $400 Suits, Constraint, Cold Front, Ryker's, Everybody Gets Hurt, Madball, Abreast, Merauder, Veil, Sworn Enemy, 4 In Tha Chamber, Mushmouth, B.F.!, Discipline, Breakdown, Wake Up Cold, Stampin' Ground, My Own Victim, Right Direction, Shelter. |
