The entire United States of America seem to be dominated by Crossover, HipHop and pretty boy and girl bands. The entire United States? No, there's one band in California who's still glorifying the good old values of 80's US Metal: The Lord Weird Slough Feg. It's amazing how their third album 'Down Among The Deadmen' is bringing back the memory of the golden era of American Heavy Metal. The band defines its style as Celtic Epic Metal, a sound devoted to timeless monoliths of Metal as Iron Maiden, Manowar,... and especially Cirith Ungol. What The Lord Weird Slough Feg are playing is sounding much more authentic than the whole bullshit which is presented to us by the new wave of True Metal. Maybe because two band members used to play in Laaz Rockit and Angel Witch, two classics of the 80's. This record is a successful time journey back to the 80's. Even if you can hear out lots of clichés, they are all presented in a convincing and plausible way.
