Don't get mad about this bandname! The Miracle G(y)rlz are a real and pure male band. Since the
mid 90ies, they have been releasing stuff under different names like Thee G(y)rlz Got Rhythm,
Thee G(y)rlz or Miracle G(y)rlz. Although they had one real girl on their 1997 CD 'Candy's Hardware
Bazar', they are now again a male trio, consisting of the three classic instruments and one voice.
Compared to their latest outputs (1997 CD, 1998 demo tape), the Miracle G(y)rlz have changed
a lot. The speed level got extremely lowered, there are no more elements of Punk in their music,
but they tend to go into a minimalistic, slightly folky direction. The songs are sparsely
instrumentated and have somehow a sad ambiance. I first had real problems with thems, and I really
needed several listening before they entered my hears. Two things that haven't changed are
Marttis wonderful sad and rough voice and the theme of Candy's hardware bazar which is reprised
in the opening song 'King Of Poppy'. The songs are definitely well played, but I have to admit
that I preferred their older stuff. You can contact the G(y)rlz under the following address: Wantok Music c/o Martti Trillitzsch, Schopperhofstr. 89 RG, D-90489 NÜRNBERG (Germany) |
