Night In Gales from Germany started their career as a melodic Death Metal band influenced by the Goteborg scene. They always got great reviews, but were accused of showing a lack of originality. On their last CD 'Nailworks', they drastically changed their style into 80ies Speed/Thrash Metal combined with spare Death parts. The new CD 'Necrodynamic' is only a logical consequence of last year's CD. The main trademark of their music is the change of shouting and throatwork vocals, sounding quite bizarre, but well done anyway. Especially the shouts remind of the less extreme parts of King Diamond. Although the different songs are extreme and fast, Night In Gales always find the time to put some melodic elements into it. Definitely influenced by the values of the 80ies, Night In Gales were nevertheless able to produce a modern and heavy Metal output, a solid eargasm that should make your body swing. 'Right From The Morgue' and 'The Zeronaut' are the two songs I like most. |
