Two years after their debut full-length 'Amongst The Catacombs Of Nephren-Ka', Nile have released their second CD called 'Black Seeds Of Vengeance' and have shown that they belong doubtlessly to the most extreme Death Metal bands. But the sound of Nile is not only brutal, but also bizarre and even unique. 'Black Seeds Of Vengeance' is a merciless assault to your ears, an album full of energy and fury, a violent and grinding explosion. This description could be suitable for lots of extreme Metal bands. One difference between Nile and the other bands is that they have three singers, but you wouldn't hear this out if you hadn't read the info sheet about the band as all of them have more or less the same voice :-P But the instrumentation used by Nile is one of the most clever I've heard for ages. Priest like vocals, choirs, an exotic instrumentation give the music a slight Middle Eastern touch which often breaks the fast grinding musical parts. Nile's lyrics are also about Egyptian history, culture and lore. They are one of the most promising Death Metal bands these days. |
