The cover artwork of the first Origin CD shows the famous horsehead nebula and my first suggestion was that it could be a Progressive Rock CD. But when I read that their record label was Relapse, I immediately knew that they surely are another great extreme Metal band. How right I was, the opening song 'Lethal Manipulation' is a brutal struck to your ears. Origin compare themselves to the Big Beng Phenomenon. Their music is nothing else than intense explosions of extremely fierce Death Grind riffs. The 9 different songs come out of your boxes nearly at the speed of light, aiming a cosmic destruction. Origin are especially proud of the speed of the drums that blow away. The musical intensity of Origin is really astonishing because the band was only founded in late 1997. Some members already gathered musical experience in bands like Cephalic Carnage or Angel Corpse. The other members are newcomers, but call bands like Suffocation and Atheist among their main influences. Every human being who having a bad taste and liking extreme music will adore songs like 'Sociocide', 'Vomit You Out' or 'Disease Called Man'. |
