10 songs / 73 minutes

Overlife from Alicante / Spain released in 1998 their debut called 'Between Passion & Madness'. The
Progressive Rock band got great recognition for this album which made lots of touractivities and a
participation on a Dream Theater tribute album possible for them. As they were quite occupied during
the last years, we had to wait three years for the release of the second CD called 'Last Millenium?'.
Two changes are that the band have a new singer (John Negrete from Psicopatas Urbanos) and that the
songs have become much longer than on the debut. Three songs are even lasting over ten minutes. Although
I'm not the biggest fan of that kind of music, I have to admit that Overlife are able to show their
many faces. Most songs are kind of Power Metal, mixed with catchy melodies and may be compared to Angra
from Brazil. But the CD is also containing mid tempo songs, a great played instrumental (Eclipse) and
a citchy Bon Jovi like sounding ballad (Where My Heart Belongs). Although I'm not an expert of Overlife
like music, I could imagine that they belong to the best Prog Rock bands in Europe. It's obvious to
hear out that they can play their instruments and know how to write songs. By the way, the cover artwork
was done by Rainer Kalwitz, who has already painted covers for No Name from Luxemburg.
