Noiseworks Records
is one of the first East German independent labels, even formed before the
fall of the Wall. During 11 years of hard work, they have released about 2000 CDs, tapes and
vinyls. Reformstau 2000 is the 5th label compilation which came out a short time before the
PopKomm in Cologne. Noiseworks is no mainstream label and so you can expect to listen to a
lot of different styles on this CD: German sung Diskurs Pop (Phonophobie, Hundertölf,
Cyberspace Junkies), Guitar Pop (Matchmate, Milton, Mooch Philister), Noise Rock (Trost, Mad X-Ray,
Awful Noise, Mirrormoon, Waave) and some more bizarre stuff for this label. Makarios & Prumskibeat
play a kind of eighties synthie Pop, Snow Crash are an excellent TripHop band, Dabble Inshore are
experimenting with loops, Top Dog play a kind of distorted Reggea, Unbounded play cool and funny
Punk Rock and Hateful Birthday (the only track I don't like) are a Darkwave band. Reformstau 2000 is offering a huge and diversified choice of music, but as you won't find commercial stuff on this CD, I can only suggest to lend one of your ears to it. |
