Re-Vision showed already on their first, self-titled CD that they are one of the hottest
German underground metal bands, but their second CD 'Whore Venus' can top easily what
they have done before. Re-Vision can't be described as a True Metal band, what they play
is a kind of progressive, but still melodic Power Metal, maybe a crossing of Fates Warning
and Iron Maiden. The highlight on the CD is the title track which could already be heard on the
promo release. It's one of the most original metal songs I've ever heard; in fact a dark melodic
metal song with sad vocals and strange oriental melodies that are haunting through your mind days
after you heard the song. The really gloomy side of the band can be found in the melancholic 'Clouds'
which reminds me somehow of Fields Of The Nephilim. Prog metal fans will like the more complex
'Fortune Lying' that sounds somehow like Fates Warning way back in the 80ies when they had still
John Arch in their rows. But... beware: this is no retro-trip, because although many of the influences
may lie in the past, the sound is highly original and doesn't sound like some old boot from the pioneer
times of metal. Re-Vision are one of the bands that will one day save metal music from extinction, and if you want to know more about this German four-piece, you can have a look at their homepage or send them an e-mail.
