What a merciless attack for your ears. After the great underground success of their debut 'Total Torture' (which is meanwhile sold out), Stormthrone Of Dripping Blood have released their second CD in 1998. I haven't heard the first one, but while listening to the second one, my first impression was a musical meeting between Dark Funeral and the very early Celtic Frost. The two men behind Islek Records Pro. Total Death and Harmageddon are playing guitars, drums, keyboards and trying to sing. While writing, both were (if you believe the info sheet) in a bad and misanthropic shape and you can hear this out while listening to an instrumental song like 'Forbidden Spheres'. Close your eyes and you see ghosts flying around in your room. Another problem for the two guys was that they had to record the songs at their home computer because the equipment of radio LNW, where they usually recorded, got stolen a few months before. So the sound isn't optimal, but still listenable. It would be much better if the guitar sound was more transparent. There are also some phases of humour on this CD as they include the 'Smoke On The Water' riff to 'Absence Of Light'. In general the songwriting is quite OK, even if it still is a bit chaotic. But at least, it's extreme enough for a Black Metal like kind of music. At the end I have to add that 'Todbringer' is a cover version of a Darkthrone song, but S.O.D.B. have written new lyrics.

This CD is available for 250 LUF, 13 DEM or 9 USD (everything included) under the following address:
