Unbound started as KidsClubCannibals and already belonged to the few highlights on the weak Maschinen Open AEr compilation by Noiseworks Records. After the change of the name, they released a demo tape and now a mini CD. As the four musicians like to do snowboarding, they describe their music as Snow Punk, comparable to Skate Punk. That means that Unbounded play fast, but melodic Punk songs that could also be described as kiddie music. But although I'm nearly 30 now, I still like those songs. The only 17-year-young-singer Ingo Reinhold gives the songs a melancholic attitude with his voice. Although fans of Lagwagon and Satanic Surfers may appreciate what Unbounded do, I think that their nine songs on 'Hell Airways' contain more variations. 'Comprehension' is a real sing-along Oi! song, 'Hatred' is the only song with a Hardcore attitude and 'Reaching Dreams' goies even more into folk music. My personal highlight is the cover version of '74-75' by the Cornells, but needless to say that this version really kicks as. But on the whole, the album contains no bad songs and Unbounded belong to the new and freshest Punk Rock bands. The only reproach is may be that their music isn't original at all, but who cares as long as listening to it still makes fun. |
