This is already the fourth part of the Victory Style series which have totally sold 300000 copies so far. For the first time, such a Victory compilation contains new and unreleased material. A big surprise on the CD are the comebacks from Earth Crisis and Shelter who will soon publish new CDs. But I want to say immediately that Victory Style 4 is a quite interesting label compilation and presents various faces of Hardcore nowadays. In fact one may say that the 23 bands on the compilation could form three different groupments. The first one belong to the more extreme and aggressive bands like Earth Crisis, Hatebreed, Inegrity 2000, Buried Alive, All Out War, OS101 and No Innocent Victim. The second groupment is my favourite one as it contains the more melodic bands like Shelter, Grayarea (ex- Token Entry), Grade (performing again 'A Year In The Past' now in an alternate version), Electric Frankenstein, Catch 22 (real cool), Boy Sets Fire, The Strike and River City Rebels. Now I wonder if I should call the third groupment 'medium'. Snapcase, Shutdown, Cause For Alarm, Skarhead, Blood For Blood, Warzone (R.I.P. Raybeez) and Reach The Sky belong to it. But after all, every band is playing Hardcore and there's no real bad track on this CD. Check it out to learn more about Hardcore 2000. |
