FruityLoops-a program to love and hate
This is an angry critique because I like fruity loops.
Using the Vst instruments is great but the thing that I don't like is the lack of fluidity upon constructing the patterns.
In 2.7 you could make all your patterns and then arrange in playlist and tweak whatever function down the line.
Now I find that you have to basically arrange in pattern mode and as far as laying out a nicely tweaked synth for a certain distance.
Why should I have to make a pattern 16 bars long instead of repeating a 4 bar pattern and varying the resonance in playlist.
These guys at fruity loops don't really care. They are bad at explaining the alleged advances, but they are good at ignoring the inconsistencies.
In my endeavor to find a combination of programs to increase my productivity ( track -tweak- mix- and burn )
I'm disappointed in fruity not because I don't like it, but because It's a good prg that could be great, but it's not great. It's just good....
My logic is, when I could use Reason to make tracks and rewire them into Cubase to mix down with VST and direct x FX as well as play along and record vst instruments in Cubase, what the hell do I need fruity for? I could always bring the samples into Reason if I like.
