Spitfire is the name of the musical project I've been working on since late 1995. The music has an ambient, trancey sound with occasional dissonance and distortion. Mostly, I tend to go for a harmonic sound, with a good, solid percussional rhythm to back it. Since I began this project, I have written around 40 songs and put together 3 albums. I haven't released anything yet, because I really just write for myself. However, I have given tapes to my friends and the feedback has been positive, so I made some sound files so you could sample some of my creative talent. I have 26 clips from 21 songs here for your listening enjoyment. They are in RealAudio format to conserve space, so if you need the player, click here. And without any further adieu, here they are...

Here is some additional information about Spitfire that you may find interesting...
I use my Micron PC to write my music and I use Midisoft Recording Session. To write my music, I use musical notation and some MIDI crap. To be honest, I don't really know MIDI all that well. I just fart around until I come up with something that sounds halfway decent. I also have another project in the works called Allegro Geist. This project is more improvisational as it is me plugging a keyboard into my stereo and recording whatever I play. If I can polish it up a little bit, I may include Allegro Geist sound clips as well. I will also post up new Spitfire clips whenever I start recording again (probably September 1997).
One last thing, if you are interested, I do have copies of The Apocrypha and The Heartbeat lying around somewhere in my dorm room. If you would like one, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll give you more information then. I consider the tapes as the equivalent of shareware. I'm not in this for money, so the tape is free, all you have to do is supply a 90-minute (it must be 90 minutes!) tape and postage. If the tape sucks, you can record over it, and if the tape is cool, you can go ahead and make copies of it and distribute it.
