Tour Talk with TLC

It seems as if TLC has been absolutely everywhere
these days; so everywhere, really, that you kind of
forget that a big ol' five-some years passed between
"Crazysexycool" and the group's current blockbuster,
"Fanmail."
Plus the trio's been gracing our very own living rooms
regularly in the context of riveting episodes of
"BIOrhythm," "Behind The Music," and the like; and
let's not forget when they stopped by to snag a Best
Group Video for "No Scrubs" at the 1999 MTV Video
Music Awards. But when was the last time T-Boz,
Chilli, and Left Eye physically came to town to rock
the house right down to the ground?
Exactly. Such is the mania surrounding TLC's
impending tour. With Destiny's Child, K-Ci & JoJo,
and Ideal lined up to warm up the stage on this
go-round (more dates are expected to be announced
for January 2000 on) and the heat on the trio to pull
off its first outing as a headliner, the makings of a
compelling road trip are indeed in place. All we need
is for the ladies to kick it in gear and go.
Before they do, they wanted to stop by and say "hi"
during a quick visit to "Total Request Live" in the
second week of October. After palling around with
our Carson for a few, T-Boz and Chilli (Left Eye was
home sick, sadly) sat down with MTV News' Andréa
Duncan and chewed the fat about the upcoming tour,
fan reactions to "Unpretty," and a very odd alternate
explanation for the acronym "TLC."
Let's get cooking, shall we?
