Some basic information
The singer of Corona is Olga de Souza (16-07-1968, born in Rio De Janeiro). Some years ago she came to Italy, where she dreamed of a musical career. She met producer Francesco Bontempi. In December 1993 the first song The Rhythm Of The Night was released on the DWA Label. The song reached number 1 in Italy and stayed there for 13 consecutive weeks. We had to wait a whole year for the follow-up: Baby Baby. In 1995 this song also was a smash-hit. The debut album The Rhythm Of The Night followed in April of 1995. The third single, Try Me Out was released in July 1995 and also was a big hit in Italy and also entered the UK-chart. A bit of a surprise was the 4th single: I Don't Wanna Be A Star. The song was remixed in a 70's disco style, very well done. After that the Mega Mix was released. In 1997 Corona was back with The Power Of Love, but this was not a big hit. Since then I haven't heard much from her here in Holland, except one single: Walking On Music. Also there must be a 2nd album, but I don't know the title.
