I'm Beautiful....I'm Sexy....
And I'm Gorgeous!
These are the lyrics of the second single from Gorgeous, a project from DJ Piet Blank. Piet Blank is a busy guy: DJ, working for Eins Live (German Radio Station) and making music in more projects: Da Bomb, Blank & Jones and Gorgeous. Piet (he's German, although his name sounds Dutch) bought his first vinylsingle at the age of nine. He knew at very young age that he wanted to play music for people and did some DJ-gigs. From the age of 15 he played in several German clubs, from Wave, Soul and House. In 1996 he joined the Eins Live team and got his own radio show Eins Live Party Service, where he was the first one to play the songs from acts like Sash! and Future Breeze. 1997 was the definitve breakthrough for one of Europe's best DJs, with the release of Don't Stop from Gorgeous (with a little help from Future Breeze), his first real performance of this song was in Viva's Club Rotation, a dance show, hosted by Daisy Dee. Piet also hosted some of the Club Rotation Shows when Daisy was on holidays. The second hit from Gorgeous was I'm Gorgeous. Piet also does remixes for other acts like Future Breeze. If you see a Da Bomb remix, a Gorgeous remix or a Blank & Jones remix, you know that it is a mix by Piet Blank. In 1998 Gorgeous did a remix of an old Trio song: Da Da Da, together with Soul-O. The newest song from Gorgeous is called Love Sensation, again a song with lots of Samba de Janairo elements...
