The Radio Boys

  Jerry Immel
Here's one of our buddies from our days on the air at WJER. Jerry was perhaps the most talented announcer to ever pass through the station. He has spent all his life in the biz, doing announcing, voice-overs, narrations, and a fair amount of "that was and this is." Here's Jerry today during one of his trips to the left coast.

Yours Truly Behind the Mike at WHBC
What a great place to work this was! WHBC long had the reputation of being one of the finest broadcast stations in Northeastern Ohio. Here I am in the early 70s, probably hosting a late night talk show.

  Ed Cox
Ed was a great guy, and a good news man. I worked with Ed at both WJER and, later, at WHBC. I could tell you stories... Like the time he fell asleep in his car at the police station and accidentally backed into the chief's cruiser... Or the time he was working the "sign-on" shift at WJER, forgot his key, and broke out the glass in the door to get into the station. He cut his hand badly, but, fortunately, the hospital was right across the street, and they sent over an emergency nurse to bandage it while he was reading the sign-on news.
