Who is Milo? : Under Construction

Milo is a trailer home resident of Fortune City. Why is this page a 'trailer home'? Because Milo lives in a neighborhood where many houses are here one day and gone the next. A 404 error "File Not Found" error on the server is a lot like a trailer park after a tornado. You can go down the streets and neighborhoods, looking for your best friend, and then you find that your friend has moved away permenantly, the only note being from the server, saying that they can't find who you are looking for either.

Actually, a more accurate description of Milo's neighborhood would be to liken it to the set of a Hollywood movie. For the purposes of the movie, there appears to be a town; walking down the street, you see the fronts of many stores and houses. But that is all that the neighborhood is: a collection of 'fronts' that give the illusion of a real town. Most of the 'homes' are nothing more than a large board and some paint, with nothing behind it but the stakes that prop it up.

I am not claiming to have a page that is particularly bountiful with content. Nor am I saying that all the pages here are devoid of effort. (I have visited quite a few well-designed and worthwhile pages here.) My complaint is that many of the pages are Under Eternal Construction, a Hell unique to webpages on the Internet. Empty pages with empty promises of a thoroughly-fulfilling site.... to be coming soon. I see a greater variety of "Under Construction" logos than any other graphic. (People are quite creative with those, I admit.) If anyone ran a construction company like that, they would go bankrupt. (Unless they were government-subsidized, but that's another story althogether...)

I will get off my soapbox now. I realize that I haven't really said who Milo is. But that's because he's still 'Under Construction'.
