"Hey look it's the fag!" Cory called to Taylor. Taylor shook his head and began to reply but stopped.
"Taylor, just ignore him he's an asshole" Jennifer Taylor's girlfriend insisted. Cory and his friends came up behind Taylor and clapped his hand on Tay's shoulder.
"What do you guys think should be done with this fag?" Cory asked his circle of friends.
Taylor pulled away from Cory's grasp. "Cory lay off will ya?" Tay said calmly.
"Kill him!" one of Cory's friend shouted.
"Leave him alone you guys he didn't do anything to you," Jenn exclaimed. Jennifer had been going out with Taylor for almost a year and was used to Cory and his friends trying to beat Tay up. She hated that they just couldn't face the fact that she and Tay were going steady. Jenn was one of the prettiest girls in the school with her long flowing blond hair and her liquid blue eyes and beautiful models figure.
"Oh come on Jenny we just wanna have some fun with Taylor here," Cory's friend Scott said in a mocking tone, "say how bout you going to a movie with me tonight what do ya say?"
"How bout you go to hell" Jenn replied with a sweet smile. Jenn grabbed Tay's arm and began walking away.
"Hey Taylor you gonna hide behind your girlfriend all your life or you gonna act like a man?" Cory hissed.
"Oh that's it," Taylor stated pulling away from Jenn and rolling up his shirt sleves, "your askin' for it Cory."
"Oh I'm shaking I'm just oh so scared of Taylor Hanson," Cory replied rolling his eyes. Taylor stepped up to Cory and gave him a shove. Cory smirked, "is that you got a got wimp?"
Taylor glared at Cory; he hated being pushed into things. Taylor gave Cory another hard shove, this time Cory was caught off guard he stumbled and fell backwards. "Let that be a lesson to you," Taylor said with a smirk he turned back to Jenn and they walked away.
Cory climbed to his feet, "get back here Hanson boy I'm not finished with you!"
Later that evening Taylor and Jenn were seated on Taylor's front porch. "Taylor you shouldn't have messed with Cory, you could've been hurt," Jenn said with a frown.
"Hurt by Cory no way he's not a threat," Taylor replied staring at the sunset, "nice night huh?"
"yeah." Taylor moved closer to her on the step. "So...uh...Tay when are you leaving again?" Jenn asked distractedly.
"I'm not sure yet so we'll be home for awhile why are you that anxious to get rid of me?" he asked giving her that smile of his that said I know I'm so cute.
Before Jenn could answer Isaac stuck his head out the front door, "supper stupid"
Taylor frowned, "go away!"
"Hurry up or you'll have to do dishes," with that Isaac disappeared into the house.
"Well I guess I'd better go," Tay said getting up.
"Yeah okay I'll see you later." Jenn began to walk down the front porch.
"I'll call you," Tay yelled after her.
"Okay."
Minutes after his goodbye to Jenn Taylor was seated at the dinner table in the dinning room. "Hey Ike you won't believe what happened today and....hey where's Zac?" Taylor questioned.
"Who knows but anyway what happened?" Isaac asked poking at the food in front of him.
The front door slamed and Zac yelled from the front hall, "I'm home."
"Your late you're doing the dishes!" Isaac yelled back.
"No fair I did them last night," Zac replied coming into the dinning room.
"You were late last night too," Taylor pointed out.
"Yeah whatever," Zac said quietly as he sat down.
"Zac wash your hands" Mrs. Hanson ordered her son. Zac rolled his eyes as he got up and went to wash his hands in the kitchen sink.
"So Tay you were saying what happened toady?" Ike asked.
"Well Jenn and I were walking down 77th street and we ran into Cory and his gang," Taylor paused to see Ike's reaction.
"Uh oh what happened?"
"Who's Cory?" Jessica questioned her big brother.
Isaac looked at her for a moment, "he's this guy that likes to pick on Tay and try and make him wanna fight."
Jessica turned to Taylor "did you fight him?"
"No," Taylor replied.
"Why not? Are you scared of him?"
"No way he's just not worth it," Tay insisted.
"Well I think your just scared," Jessica proclaimed.
"Jessica dear, Taylor did the right thing," Mrs. Hanson agreed with her son.
"What this about fighting?" Zac asked. He had just returned from the kitchen.
"Taylor was to scared to fight this guy named Cory," Jessica explained Zac just gawked at his older brother.
"Oh for God sakes!" Taylor cried tossing his fork down, "excuse me." With that Taylor stormed out of the room.
"Zac that wasn't very nice," Isaac scolded trying to hide his smile.
Taylor slammed the door of his room. What did Jessica know anyway she was only nine. Taylor tossed himself onto his bed. Sometimes he thought that Jessica had it in for him, it was like she hated him. He closed his eyes maybe, he was just dreaming.
