#1 The Seven Detectives- Effect- A story of seven detectives chasing a murder Procedure- Take out four of the same face cards (I like to use kings for this trick) and lay them on the table beside the rest of the deck. Shuffle the rest of the deck and memorize the bottom card. Spread the cards (without the kings in it) in a fan and ask a volunteer to select a card. Tell the volunteer to look at the card, remember it and place it on top of the deck. As the spectator to cut the deck. Explain to him/her that the card they selected has committed a murder and the four kings will find it. Look trough the deck and the card they selected will be the next card after the one you peeked at before. Place the kings (or whatever four you chose) in this order have way sticking out of the deck. Face card, original bottom card, face card, volunteers selected card, face card, card after their selected card, and then the last face card. Fold the deck back up and leave the kings (or the four card you chose) sticking up out of the deck. Turn it upside down (so the volunteer can see the card's faces) against a table. Tap the cads so they go into they deck and three cards should pop up with the selected card inside the other two. Hit it again on the table and two face cards should pop up. Hit it again and the volunteers selected card should pop up. You have now finished the seven detectives! Suggestion- You can make up any other story to go along with the trick, this can make it alot more interesting to the audience. When you tap the cards on the table, don't hold them to tight or they might bend. #2 The Four Aces- Effect- The volunteer cuts the deck into four piles. From each pile three card are placed on the other pile. The top card on each pile is turned over to reveal all aces. Preparation- Put all four aces on top of the deck. Procedure- Tell the volunteer to cut the deck into two separate piles, then tell them to cut the two piles into four. You say to the volunteer that you will call the piles one to four. (Four being the pile with the aces) don't tell them this. Have the volunteer pick the first pile up and take the top three cards and place them on the bottom, then deal the new top three cards one on each other piles (2,3,and 4). The volunteer continues the same procedure on the three other piles (to do this in a more interesting manner, act like you?re pointing to the piles in order). When they are done with the four piles turn each pile over to reveal all aces! Suggestion - Do this trick by your self a couple of time until you get it right, then go for your friend, family members, and others. #3 E.S.P- Effect- The volunteer chooses a card, places it on top of the deck, the volunteer cuts the deck, and the magician finds the card. Procedure- All you do for this trick is take a peek at the bottom card and remember it. Then fan the cards and ask the volunteer to select one and remember it. You then ask the volunteer place the card on top of the deck. After that you ask the volunteer to cut the deck. Then you count of the cards from the top, flip them face up until you reach the bottom card that you remembered, their card will be the next card down! #4 Order Please! - Effect- the magician lines up all the cards in a row by dealing them out. Procedure- Separate all the cards by their suit. Line each suit up in this order, Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King. Then stack all the suits on top of each other (Any order doesn?t matter). Starting from the top of the deck, deal of 21 card and lay them down EXATLY in the same order face down in a pile. Then put the pile on the bottom of the deck face up. Now ask a volunteer to cut the deck nine times (without cutting them in different places each time). Ask them to put the two halves together now, deal the cards into thirteen piles face down. When you finish that, turn all of the cards over to reveal that they are the same cards in each pile and whalah, instant order! Suggestion- Do this trick with yourself a couple of times before you do it on an audience. #5 Kings Robbery- Effect- The magician tells a story while making the kings rob a bank. Procedure- Before the trick put four kings on top of a deck face down like the rest of the deck. Then take four other cards (any cards are fine) on top of the kings. Then tell the story like this. There were four kings who decided to rob a bank, 2 kings go to the 1st floor to look out for cops (place the two-non king cards on the bottom). The 2 left over king?s go to the second floor to rob the store (place the two other non-king cards in the middle of the deck). All of a sudden the robbers hear a siren and all escape on the roof (tap your finger on the deck to make it appear as if they went to the top of the deck). Now show the audience the four next cards, they will all be kings! Suggestion- This trick allows you to be creative. You can alter the story and change it by not using kings. #6 The Royal Hotel- Effect- The magician acts out a story with suits of cards. Preparation- You must have these four suits in these four orders. Four Queens on top of the pile, four Jacks below the four Queens, the four Kings below the four Queens, and the four Aces below the four Kings. Procedure- Deal out the four Queens in four separate piles while saying, "Four girls went to a hotel, each stayed in a separate room." Next, deal out the four Jacks while saying, "Each girl called on a separate bell boy to carry in their baggage." Deal out the four Kings while saying, "Four desk clerks came in to each room to supervise how each bell boy was doing." Last, deal out the four Aces while saying, "The girls thought the desk clerks were burglars so they called the cops." Put the four separate piles together. Ask a volunteer to cut the cards and put the two halves together. Finally say, "The four girls were so frightened after the episode, that they all slept in the same room." Reveal to the audience that the suits are in order and they are in the same order that you dealed them out in! Suggestion- For this trick you can make up a different story to go along with. #7 Spelling Contest- Effect- A magician shuffles a deck, takes the top thirteen card off of it, and proceeds to spell Ace. A.C.E, and you put one card under the thirteen until the three letters are spelled and he flips over the fourth card and it is an Ace. When the trick is done all the cards are in sequential order. Preparation- Arrange these thirteen card in this order with the first card face up. Three, Eight, seven, ace, Queen, Six, Four, Two, Jack, King, Ten, Nine, and five. Turn this face up pile, over and put it on the rest of the deck face down. Presentation- this trick is very simple but your friends and family will be amazed. Start by shuffling the deck so that you really do shuffle but you leave the top thirteen cards untouched. Take the top thirteen cards of the rest of the deck and reveal to the audience that they are indeed, in no particular order. Set the rest of the deck aside. When you start the spelling, spell the cards in this order, Ace, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, J,Q,K. For example, the word ACE, has three letters, for this word take a card of the top and place it on the bottom until you've done this three times. (The equivalent of the three letters together) Take the next card off the top and set it face up on the table. It is indeed the Ace. Do this until you have run out of cards. Suggestion- If your audience figures out the deck is rigged, treat it as a puzzle for them to figure out, this way they still get amazed. To add to the mystery, don't use cards of the same suit, otherwise it will be easy for your audience to figure this out. #8 Four Kingdoms- Effect- The magician acts out a story with cards. Preparation- To spreform this trick, separate all the Kings, Queens, Jacks, and Aces. Begin this trick by telling the story of the greatest and powerfullest wizard. Procedure- You start by saying, "Once upon a time there was four kingdoms. " In each of the four kingdoms there was a huge castle." (While saying this put all the Aces next to each other face up in a row.) "In each kingdoms castle there lived a fare and honest king." (Put the four Kings in a row ontop of the Aces in the same suit). "Each King was happely married to and equaly fare and honest Queen." (Put down the four Queens in a row ontop of the Kings in the same suit order.) " Year by year each kingdom was born a child, happy and healthy." (Put down the four Jacks in a row ontop of the Queens in the same suit.) "The greatest wizard saw this and said, "Everything is going A OK, I might as well head to the Bahamas for the weekend." (While saying this, from left to right, stack all the four kingdoms ontop of each other.) "In the meantime the evil Morganus, ruler of the underworld was building up a spell to cast on the four kingdoms." "Once the great wizard was gone, Morganus chated, Cat tails, bat's eyes, blood from a rat, mix it together in a great big vat." (While saying this, deal out one card for every word face down in four piles.) "His spell took hold and he cast it to the four winds." (While saying this arang the four face down piles in a diamond shape.) "The results were horrible, the chidren became lost in the forest,the castles were empty, and the Kings and Queens wandered helplessly in the desert." (While saying this turn all the piles over to reaveal all Aces, Jacks, Kings, and Queens.) "But after a while the great and powerfull wizard cam back and saw this. This cannot last any longer! And he cast his spell, much more powerfull than the evil morganus' and it gather all the Kings, Queens, the children, and the castles from each coner of the earth." (While saying this pick up the pile from left to right and place them ontop of each other.) "Then he said, Morganus is in trouble if ever he's sighted, but these familys four will soon be united." (While saying this deal the card into four face down piles, one card for each word.) "And once agian all was right in the four kingdoms." (Turn over each pile to reveal every family is united by their suits.) Suggestion- This story can be altered, but, you have to keep the spells and the order of the kingdoms in the beginning the same or the trick will not work. #9 Three In a Row, But Not Tick Tac Toe- Effect- The magician tells the audience to put aces in the top middle and bottom, he cuts the deck and three aces are in the middle. Procedure- Take a red Ace and put it on the bottom of the deck so the audience does not see. Gather the rest of the Aces and show them to the audience. Ask a volunteer to put one on the top, on the bottom, and in the middle. Ask the volunteer to cut the deck in the middle and put the bottom half on the top of the deck. Tell him/her that you will find three Aces magicly joined together. Go through the deck and find that indeed, their are three Aces right next to each other. Suggestion- The three Aces will be hidden somewhere in the middle of the deck. You can use other cards besides Aces to make the trick better. #10 Pick a Card, Any Card- Effect- The magician finds the card the volunteer choose. Preparation- Start this trick by rigging the deck face up from bottom to top like this. Black, Red, Black, Red, Black, Red, through the entire deck of cards. Turn the entire deck of face up cards face down. Ask a volunteer the fraise that all true magicians know. "Pick a card any card!" Shuffel through the deck until you find the first set of two black or red cards. Suggestion- When your looking through the deck to find their card, shuffel through it farely quick, otherwise they might figure out that the deck is rigged. #11 The Impossible Trick Effect- The magician selects two random cards and they magicly pass through the deck. Preparation- All you do is take the 6 and nine of Diamonds, and get the 6 and 6 of Hearts. Place the four cards so that they look like this. 9 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds, and place the other two card together. Or you can Switch the order as long as the piles have two different suits. Before hand take a pile of your two piles and place the card on the top and bottom of the deck. Take the second pile (9 and 6) and place it ontop of the deck. Procedure- This trick is really not impossible. Tell the volunteer that you will randomly select the two top cards off the deck. Show the 2 cards two the audience in a flashy manner so they see the suits but not for a long time. Put the 2 cards on the table face down and ask the volunteer to put them in the deck, face down. Tell them to touch the top of the deck and make up some sort of story like their body heat is so hot it will magicly take their two cards and bring the cards to the top and bottom of the deck. Hold the cards tightly and horrizontaly so that the top card of the deck is face down. Start by holding the deck tightly and slowly let of the pressure holding the deck so that all, except for the top and bottom cards fall through. Then reveal to the volunteer their two cards.(not really) Suggestion- Do this trick by yourself a couple of times before you go to a audience or volunteer so that you memorize how to do each step. #12 The High Card- Preparation- Shuffel the deck a few times. Procedure- This trick is really not a trick, but its pretty cool anyway! Take the deck in your right hand face down and slame the face down deck on the table. There will be a spot were the cards slid away from each other. Reaveal the top slided card to usually be a high card. Or if the top slided card isnt a high card, reveal the bottom high card. This trick is mostly probability, but its pretty neat. Reason- The reason the cards usually slid of with high faces on them is because if you think about it, high cards like jacks, queens, and kings have lots of ink on them, therefore, they have less friction. Suggestion- This trick sometimes dosent work, but keep trying, you will get it after a while. To use an audience for this trick, tell them that you can make valuble card slid out of the deck. (Or something that sounds misterious.) Try throwing the deck at a angle, it will probably work better. #13 Non-Joken Jokers Preparation- Before you start the trick, place a joker on the bottom of the deck. Procedure- fan the cards out and ask the volunteer to take a card. Now have him/her place it ontop of the deck. Cut the cards. Say that you have to have the joker on the bottom. Look for th joker you placed on the bottom of the deck earlier before. Wene you find it, the card after it is the card the volunteer chose. Now cut the deck so that his,her card returns to the top of the deck, and the joker returns to the bottom. Ask the volunteer how many months in a year. When the volunteer answers 52, deal five cards into a pile on a table. Next deal two cards into a pile next to the other pile. Place the "two" card group pile and place it ontop of the other pile of five cards and place all the cards back ontop of the deck. Ask him/her how many months are in a year. When the volunteer answers 12, deal twelve cards into a pile and return all the cards on the top of the deck. Ask the volunteer how many days in a week. When the volunteer answers 7, place the top seven cards in a pile and then return them back to the top of the deck. Turn over the top card and bury it in the deck while saying, "That card was not your card, I can sense it's magical powers are to high." (Or something misterious.) Take the joker from the bottom of the deck and tap it on the top of the deck, the card on top of the deck is theirs! #14 Physic Powers- Preparation- Before the trick, look at the bottom card of the deck. Procedure- Hold the cards in your left hand face down. Grab the deck with your right hand this way, with your four fingers (index,middle,ring,and pinkie on top) and your thumb on the bottom of the deck. Tell the volunteer to stop at any time. Shuffel through the deck with your right hand, while doing this slide the bottom card to the right with your thumb. When the volunteer stops, take the bottom card so that it is the last card in your right hand. Then say what it's suit and number is. Suggestion- Practice this trick before hand by yourself, before showing it to a volunteer. | |
