Backstreet Boys have just announced that they are planning a two-day world tour.

Speaking to an American radio station, Howie Dorough told listeners that the Backstreet Boys will be appearing in six different continents on the day their brand new album Black And Blue is released. 'It just so happens that Japan is a day ahead because of the time difference so we can cover all six continents on 21 November.'

'We're not trying to set ourselves up for anything,' Howie continued. 'It's just that this is worldwide to us. We have a huge fan base in America and we are very fortunate to have lots of fans around the world as well, so we wanted to do this six continent thing for them.'

Backstreet Boys could have got the idea for their two-day tour from Geri Halliwell who embarked on a similar promotional trip to launch her debut solo single, Look At Me. Geri spent half a day in Sydney and took in Tokyo and New York before heading back to the UK for an exclusive airing of Look At Me on Zoe Ball's Radio 1 breakfast show.

The new Backstreet Boys single Shape Of My Heart is released on 6 November with the album Black and Blue following on 21 November.
