O.K., first of all, when I got to the Lansdowne Park, it was 10am, two hours before the show started. I got there with a couple of my friends and met the rest, who were already waiting in line. At 12 o'clock, they openned the doors. When I got in, I saw Bill Welytchka, one of the main spokespersons at Much Music. I walked up to him, said "hi", he acknowledged, shook my hand, and I left. We started walking around, looking at the stores and we went off to the "Bear Stage" to see THE INBREDS . This is a band made of two members, one bassist, and one drummer. The performance was OK, but all the songs were the same, and the singer didn't really know how to sing.

It was then up to SANDBOX. This band made a lot more sense than the inbreds, but it was still on the mediocre side. The performance was good, the music wasn't.

THE NEW MEANIES was pretty good. I did some crowd surfing during their show an that was pretty cool.

After the New Meanies' show, we got in line to get their autographs. The band members were really cool and they gave away signed posters. Unluckily, because of the rain, my poster ended up turning into "papier mch". That was too bad because the poster was really cool. Mmh, whatcha gonna do? Gotta deal with it.

Then we sat down, in the rain, talking about the past performances while we were waiting for the KILLJOYS . Boy, their show really killed the joy in the air! Ha! Ha! Ha! Anyways, it sucked so much that me and my friend Claude Tardif left after one song and a half.

Instead, we got in line to get Sandbox's autographs, don't ask me why.

BIF NAKED walked onstage, her crowd was pretty big, the mosh pit too, but I didn't waste my energy in it, I preferred waiting for Econoline Crush , since they were one of the reasons why I went there.

So, finally ECONOLINE CRUSH came out. As soon as they started, everyone ran to their stage. They kicked off with "Surestarter". The moshing was great! It was the best one I had participated in in a long time! The show was wild. At one point, Jon Savage and I lifted Claude Tardif in the air so he could surf - for the first time in history. He seemed to have a blast! At one point, Trevor Hurst, the singer, told everyone in the pit to give 'the finger' to everyone in the stands for not participating. That was pretty funny. After an approximately 45 minute show, they ended up with 'Wicked' - "A song especially for the mosh pit" - Quoted singer Trevor Hurst. He was right! After that song, it was the end of their show, it was well worth it!

By then, it was SLOAN's turn. I didn't really want to see their show, so I went off to get ECONOLINE CRUSH'S AUTOGRAPHS!!! That's right, I met (and talked to) Econoline Crush! Trevor Hurst is the coolest celebrity I've ever met. They signed on an american dollar bill, seen at the bottom of this page.

The Watchmen was another show I didn't attend to, because of a lack of interest in their show. Apparently I was right.

We then went off to see the FOO FIGHTERS . The mosh pit was crazy, but it didn't keep Phillipe Richer from surfing the hell out of it! After about four songs, Jon, Gilianne and I left the pit to go see the show at a better angle from the stands. the performance was great! They played pretty much every single they have released, just to give you an idea of their setlist.

After Foo Fighters, it was up to GREEN DAY to entertain the crowd. They started off with "Nice Guys Finish Last". We then left the stands to go in the pit. They played a part of Marilyn Manson's 'Beautiful People' and also a part of 'Iron Man', by Black Sabbath. The show was the best of all, and I mean that even is I am not a Green Day fan. Billy Joe Armstrong stripped down to a leopard G-String, and started to do some sort of dance. He even turned around and started jiggling his butt for everyone, I got a real laugh out of that. I also did a lot of crowd surfing, which was cool. At the end of their set, they played When I Come Around, and after that, Tre Cool smashed his drums and set them on fire. Then Mike Dirnt smashed his bass and through that in the fire. While all that was happening, Billy Joe was running around in his G-String. Then, they started throwing beer and water at the crowd, Mike through his drumsticks in tha crowd. Then they left. A couple of minutes later, billy Joe walked back out and played "The Time Of Your Life", which is what they just had! Then roadies put the flames out. By then, I was almost front row center. Then, out of nowhere, Claude came flying right next to me, that was some coincidence.

I then went in the stands for MOIST , and the show was too much of a choreography. So it sucked.

For the TEA PARTY review, simply go to the Edgefest '97 review, for it was pretty much the same. They kicked ass.

IT WAS THE GREATEST DAY OF THE SUMMER UP TO NOW!!!
