Interests/Information:
As far as my hobbies and interests are concerned, I like to do what most other people like to do for fun (at least most of my hobbies and interests fall into that category): watch movies, go out, play basketball and badminton, and travel. Just to clear the stereotype, BADMINTON is not a sissy sport. Sure when one sees people frolicking on the beach playing badminton, it seems that way, but trust me, if people play the sport the way it's meant to be played, people get a better workout playing badminton than tennis. If memory serves me correctly, badminton is the 2nd most aerobic sport next to squash. My other unusual hobby includes music. I am an amateur DJ. I spin vinyl records on turntables or wheels of steel as they are known in the business. I have about a 1000 records (singles mainly) and over 300 CDs. When I was in college at A&M, I used have a show on the student radio station: KANM 99.9 FM. I did a retro show for 2 semesters and an Indian (Desi) Dance Remix show one semester. I have DJ'ed countless parties. I also DJ'ed at a club in Deep Ellum in Dallas called Unfilter'd. The club has closed since then and new one has opened in its place called the Wall. Click on the animation above to see some pictures of me DJing. I spin mainly music that one can groove to. The genres include Retro and underground Retro, House, some Rap-house and Hip-hop, Trip-hop, Breakbeat, Techno, Progressive, and Trance. Recently, I have really gotten into Progressive and Trance. It's totally awesome. In the words of Josh Wink, it really takes me to a higher state of consciousness. Speaking of music, I also write poems and songs. Some are pretty stupid and idiotic but some really quite astonishing. I plan on creating and producing my own music soon. I am planning on building my own virtual studio. I could use a good singer. If you have the guts, send me an e-mail at [email protected] and we'll talk. My favorite vocal bands include Erasure, Depeche Mode, INXS, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, and Men At Work.
