Korn, the million-selling Californian industrial noisesters, are "freaked out" at the prospect of headlining the Kerrang! Stage at Donington on August 17. Vocalist Jonathan Davis told Kerrang!: "We're shocked, honoured and freaked out by the thought of playing at the festival. We know it's the biggest festival of it's type in the world, and for your readers to vote us in as the headliners on the Kerrang! stage is tremendous. We didn't really get much chance to come to England on the back of our first album (1995's 'Korn'), but we'll make up for that on August 17."
Korn of course, will be joined by Type-O-Negative, Everclear, 3 Colours Red, Honeycrack and Cecil on the Kerrang! Stage, while Kiss and Ozzy Osbourne co-headline on the main stage. As Kerrang! Stage headliners, Korn intend to give fans a real treat by playing songs from their forthcoming, as yet unititled second album, which is due through Epic on October 1. To add to that, Korn have played like only twice here before... Once, as unnamed special guests supporting Primus, the second time they headlined and sold-out the LA2 club in London - before the CD was even released over here. (Yes, despite the CD coming out in the U.S. around October '94, Epic in their infinite wisdom decided to not to bother releasing it here until November '95...).
