the animal song

The first single off the album 'affirmation', the 'the animal song' was written for the film 'The Other Sister'. I'ts an upbeat pop anthem featuring powerful guitars, drums and Darrens voice. "(The Animal Song)  is about going back to innocence. When my life is crazy and I havent got a minute to myself, I want to run from it all and get back to a simpler way of life. 'Affirmation' is a record about getting through difficult situations and coming out on the other side. 'The Animal Song' is like the happy ending to this album" -Darren Hayes

Listen to a preview of the animal song (30 seconds)- real audio

When superstars and cannon balls are running through your head
And television show cops and robbers everywhere
Subway makes me nervous, people pushing me too far
Got to break away, so take my hand now

'Cause I want to live like animals
Careless and free like animals
I want to live
I want to run through the junglethe wind in my hair and sand beneath my feet

Ive been having difficulties keeping to myself
feelings and emotions better left upon the shelf
Animals and children tell the truth, they never lie
Which one is more human?
Thares a thought... now you decide

Compassion in the jungle
Compassion in your hand
Would you like to make a run for it?
Would you like to take my hand?

I want to live like animals
Careless and free like animals
I want to live
I want to run through the junglethe wind in my hair and sand beneath my feet

Sometimes this life can get you down
It's so confusing, theres so many rules to follow
But I dont feel it cause
I just run away in my mind

When superstars and cannon balls are running through your head
And television show cops and robbers everywhere
Animals and children tell the truth, they never lie
Which one is more human?
Thares a thought... now you decide

Compassion in the jungle
Compassion in your hand
Would you like to make a run for it?
Would you like to take my hand?

I want to live like animals
Careless and free like animals
I want to live
I want to run through the junglethe wind in my hair and sand beneath my feet
