Darren Hayes:
lead and background vocals, co- writer of songs. Born 8/5/1972 in Brisbane,
Australia. Youngest of three children. Performed numerous musicals at school.
Studied Drama, Journalism and eventually Education at university before
meeting Daniel to form savage garden. Darren works
on the melody and writes the lyrics. His favourite music and influences
are: U2, Sarah Mclachlan, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Fleetwood Mack, Stevie
Nicks, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran and Prince. He is a huge star
wars fan (with 'the empire strikes back' being one of his favourite movies)
and likes Anne Rice novels, where he got the name savage garden from.

Daniel Jones: Keyboards, programming
and additional guitars, co-writer of songs. Born 22/7/1973 in Essex, England.
Youngest of three brothers, all who expressed a strong interest in music.
By the end of year 10 he was playing Keyboard and Drums in pubs and hotels.
Leaving school, he persued a musical career, collaborating with various
musicians. Was in the band Red Edge
when he met Darren, and soon afterwards left the band to create savage
garden. Daniel likes Sheryl Crow, Peter Gabriel, Seal
and George Michael. His favourite songs off their album are 'to the moon
and back' and 'carry on dancing', and 'i want you' and 'break me shake
me' for live performances.

Anna-Maria La Spina: Lead
backing vocals, Vocal Arrangement . Born 20/8/1973, Anna is Italian and
has a brother who is an opera singer. In 1991, she appeared on the show
'star search', where she won as the best female vocalist. She has since
signed a record deal with sony, and is currently writing songs for her
solo debut, as she tours with savage garden for the second time. During
an AOL interview, Darren answerd the quetsion " If you could do a duet
with anyone, who would it be and why?" like this: "Good question. Thats
a really good question... Anna Maria Laspina beacause shes the only person
on the planet that I think my voice fits like a glove."

Ben Carey: Live gutars. Nicknamed
'bleach', Ben Carey was the guitarist for an Australian band called 'Brill'
before joining the savage garden touring band. He has since worked in L.A.,
where recently he has been seen on MTV/VH1on the video by Tal Bachmans
'Shes so high'. Ben also toured for a while for Billie Myers before returning
to tour with savage garden again. |

Karl Lewis: Live Drums . Born in
England, grew up in melbourne. During a show in germany that involved pyrotechnics,
sparks flew too close to his head
and set his hair alight. Despite this, he kept
on drumming with one hand, and put out the flames with the other. Before
returning to tour with savage garden again, Karl toured with Billie Myers
across Europe. |

Lee Novak: Live Bass. Lee Novak
is the only member from the original touring band that has carried on into
the second one, and now third. Lees father was also a bass player. Savage
garden have also included him in a number of b-sides, including 'this side
of me' and 'I'll bet he was cool'. Lee is involved in an Australian band
with one time savage garden backup singer (and keyboardist) Nicole McIntyre |
