Meet Some of My Fellow Eltonmaniacs!

When I first got my computer I started to look up anything on Elton John. The first site I came across was HERCULES - EltonChat. I quickly bookmarked that page as I knew I would be a frequent visitor. Anyway, one of the first people I met was LIVWIR. Man, I thought, what a Killer name!!

As I frequented the Hercules site, more and more I spoke with Livwir. Then she told me about ICQ. So of course being new to the net. I ran and downloaded it. Both Livwir and I sort of had the same schedule, so we could meet during the week to talk about Elton and other things of interest.

Next I met VEE. At first I confused Vee with another person I had met in Eltonchat. (Vee if you are reading this I hope it puts a great big KOOL AID SMILE on your face!!) Vee and Livwir (or Livvy as she has come to be affectionately known as!!)had already been online buddies. So now it became the 3 of us. Vee lives relatively close to me so we were able to meet up for lunch.

And then we got the great idea to get Livvy to fly over for an Elton concert in Manassas,VA in May of 1998. We decided the 3 Muskateers (as we call ourselves) would go see Elton in Manassas. The day before the long awaited show, Livvy flies into BWI airport where I drove 3 hours to meet her. I had already seen pics of her so I knew who I was waiting for at the airport. Unfortunately, neither one of us knew where we were going from the airport as neither one of us had been to the Nissan Pavillion! After stopping at many gas stations that were on the way, We finally find someone who knows what he's talking about. And his story wasn't pretty either! He tells us ELTON CANCELLED HIS SHOW!!!! By now its about 2am Sat morning and Vee and her sister Shell are scheduled to meet up with us about noon the next day. Well we could hardly contain ourselves, so we call Vee with the BAD BAD NEWS!! Neither could she believe it but!!! Nonetheless we had a great time. We ended up staying the weekend in Manassas as Livvy's flight didn't leave Baltimore till Sunday morning. It gave us a chance to get to know each other more in person than we would have on the net.

Since then, Livvy has moved to our neck of the woods, actually sharing an apartment with Vee. We ended up going to 5 ELTON JOHN shows and having the time of our lives.

Some other good friends I have met are: JANET She is from ELTON'Snew hometown. So she gets to be within arms length of him more often than us QUASI-NORMAL DIE HARD FANS. Often I get to drool over pics she has taken with him and members of his band! LUCKY JANET!! YOU GO GIRL!

SCOTTIE What can I say about Scottie! She is a late bloomer with a great heart! But Dont worry Scottie You are coming along nicely! YOU WILL BE AS OBSESSED AS THE REST OF US!!!!!

Then there is SHARKEY. This girlie from The Land Of OZ is the most DEPRIVED of all the Elton Fans I know. The poor girl doesn't get to see Elton as often as the rest of us do. What she does get is the SKINNY from us, gushing about what a good show it was or how long it lasted, stuff like that. And I daresay she really takes it like a sport!! Elton,unfortunately doesn't play OZ as often as he plays anywhere else. For instance, he will be playing AMERICA for the 2nd time in as many years. He only plays OZ every 4-5 years.....SO SHARKEY! SORRY SWEETIE BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE STORIES WE FILL YOU IN ON!!!

And last but not least is MICHELLE. Also popularly known as Paralelle or Elton's Paralelle. What can I say. She is AN ABSOLUTE REG HEAD. She is as obsessed as I am, and close to IF NOT MORE! Though I have been at it a whole lot longer! But mind you, Michelle is only 17 years old. So that is impressive enough. AND! She can identify most ELTON songs in just a few notes.....
