First of all, I'm sorry if you came here and the page wasn't updated. I've been busy And on holiday.

There's a nice little jam session running here on Monday nights. Kicks off about 8:30 - 9:00pm.

It's downstairs in the Cellar bar, by the way, so don't be put off if nothing seems to be happening upstairs .....
Bring whatever you play (unless it's the drums, or the grand piano) and ask for Rob (he's the one with the headless Status guitar).
He'll try and fix you up with some like-minded people.

The nice people will usually let you use their amps , if you ask nicely.
Respect them and the equipment; or you'll have to bring your own stuff along.
And respect the other musicians. They might not have turned up just to marvel at the latest tab you've learned. Listen to what they're trying to do. Learning is a big part of why people do this ....

You might even get to see me play a couple of numbers.

They're also trying out an acoustic / originals night - the first one is was on July 8th; there'll probably be some more soon ...

Roger Hill plays on a Sunday afternoon, often with some interesting guests ...

And there are the bands on Friday nights.

Here's who's coming up (as far as I know) and who's been on so far : -

July 2nd Some Men
June 25th The Fridge Magnets Classic Blues, well played. I do like these guys.
June 18th Stress This was a bit of strange one, but I enjoyed it. Covers, done differently, tight rhythm section and some serious showing-off from the guitarist. Bits of Prince & Lenny Kravitz.
June 11th Chandella This was good stuff. Well played pop covers (Motown to Robbie, with lots of stops in the middle), non-stop.
June 4th Waire Not really my sort of stuff, but they packed the place out.
May 28th Byzantuium I'm afraid I didn't catch this one. Mostly Rock covers / originals.
May 21st Bumblecat Very slick rock outfit. I enjoyed this one.
Check out their site.
May 14th FreeFall Good song-based stuff from the 60's thru 90's. These guys picked up on Crowded House when they were Split Enz.
May 7th The Muttz Nutz OK, this is my band. Not our best performance, but most people seem to have enjoed themselves.
April 30th The Vanessas Indie stuff; these guys are getting a lot of work around the place.
April 23rd The Fridge Magnets I've only met the drummer. He;'s good, These guys play blues. Enjoy it.
April 14th Arizona OK, I've got a better idea now about what these guys are about. It's an interesting lineup, with two singers. They play stuff they like, including Blur & Garbage.
April 7th Superlungs The Monday Night house band get a chance to shine-up a proper set..
April 1st Freefall (see above)
March 26th Prussian Blue Now these guys are really good. Kate has a beautifully pure voice and she called me a "young man". I'm in love.

Check their site out.

March 19th Formula  II Patti sings on a Monday, sometimes.
She's got a decent set of lungs.
This is her duo act.
March 12th  Arizona I've seen these guys do "the Bridge", but I don't know what the rest of it's like .....
March 7th J-10  Funk, R&B, Reggae..Lee knows his way around the guitar, and Mike's a born entertainer ... well worth catching.
