 CiPop, the bands involved

Cirencester has a growing music scene which caters for quite a varied style of music. It may not be as prolific as 'Madchester', the grunge scene from Seattle or London, but Cirencester's only an ikkle place. Size doesn't matter though as it's the enthusiasm and buzz that counts, and the music from Cirencester certatinly has that in abundance, whether your tastes be pop, rock, lo-fi or 'smell-rock', you're bound to find something you like.

Absolution are one of the oldest bands around, and have are about to restart gigging after a rather long hiatus from the limelight. With the addition of another guitarist and the writing of new songs, this shall be something we all look forward to with anticipaion.

Empty haven't quite been going for as long as Absolution, but have a steadily growing fanbase and are well recieved by audiences. As are Bug, long time favorites of Empty who play a sort of lo-fi-ish type of sound, but not quite. Bug play most of their gigs in Bristol and have recently been signed for three single releases.

Holding up the front for 'smell-rock' is Practical Fantasy who have had one of their demo songs on the Guitarist magazine CD in the past couple of months and cite a couple of their influences as KoRn and Marylin Manson.

There's also another band which is timidly treading the gigging floors of Cirecester. Koomba have played three support gigs for Empty and Practical Fantasy and have wooed audiences with their big sound.
