MARILYN’s Letter

Hi,

Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a chance to sit down and write any kind of letter, so I hope you will excuse the delay and read on!

First I’ll let you know some of the things I’ve been up to:

Australia was a great trip apart from the last day, which I won’t go into! Since I’ve been back in the U.K. I’ve had to promote the last single "You don’t love me", which didn’t get very high in the charts! Now we are concentrating on a regular slot on breakfast TV, which will go out every Saturday morning at 8.15 AM – so watch out…

Also on the TV in a couple of months will be an hour long special called "Beyond the Blond" which I think you will find surprising! Live shows will begin as soon as the album is finished! I hope you don’t mind waiting, as my view is: If it’s not brilliant, don’t do it. Album will be called "My Box of Mountains". I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the cards, letters and presents I’ve received, all have a pride of place in my house! Ta.

New single soon – "Mountain to the ocean"

Keep writing – I do read your letters!

Love & kisses,

MARILYN

Dear MARILYN,

I don’t know whether you have ever thought of yourself as an heroic figure, but consider this:

What you are doing would in the 1960s have been described as Living in Edge City – living your life right on the outer limits, in a manner which is, in many ways, very dangerous.

Others can live this life through you – people who for their own various reasons cannot live this life for themselves, and for these people you endure the dangers and suffer the persecutions. I call that Heroic!

I should like to erect a giant poster of you in the style of the Russian and Chinese posters: a hero not of the Socialist Revolution but of the Sexual Revolution!

When I first saw you, some eight months ago on Top of the Pops, I little suspected the pleasure you were to bring me, nor the profound effect you were to have on my life. Thankyou for everything.

Robert’s Letter

Now for some more news. I would like to start by saying that MARILYN and Boy George have at last buried their differences and are once again the best of friends. They are planning to go on holiday together again this year, probably to Jamaica in early July.

As you all know, MARILYN recently did a promotional tour of Australia during which he was attacked. Well, as you can tell from his letter, he’s fine now and unscarred by the whole incident. He’ll still be going out without bodyguards as often as he can, so as not to lose touch with reality.

His tour of Australia was actually a great success; I’ve seen the videotapes of his shows Down Under and believe me, Australia loves him!

I’m sure you’re all waiting for the album release date and tour dates. I’m sorry to say that the intended tour dates for September have had to be postpones for the time being.

The album MY BOX OF MOUNTAINS is now practically finished, but will not be released until late summer when MARILYN will be releasing his new single MOUNTAIN TO THE OCEAN, which is a fast moving foot-tapper. It’s a great record and together I know we can get it to No. 1

If you want to help, why not call your local radio stations and ask them to play it when it comes out.

Plans for the immediate future are aimed at the USA where CALLING YOUR NAME is getting a lot of airplay, even tho it is as yet unreleased there. As soon as the legal paperwork is out of the way, I’m sure he’ll be taking them by storm on the other side of the Atlantic!

Thanks for being such great fans and keep up the good work. I look forward to chatting to you again in the next MARILYN Newsletter.

Bye for now,

Robert
